NameParser
idMatch™ NameParser Component provides an efficient and complete solution to name parsing, origin and gender determination.
The NameParser software takes any unformatted text string and returns individual names along with parsed components of the individual names present in the original input string. This highly customizable and flexible set of API is part of the idMatch™ Solution that idMatch Systems has developed. The customization can be done based on custom rules defined in the reference library as well as amended by user. These rules are definable externally. NameParser can resolve any pattern of names such as natural order, upper/lowercase letters, punctuated, names with multiple last names, hyphenated and inverse.
Based on internal “learning model” idMatch software can guess the Origin of a specific name with 70% accuracy. This Origin can further be used to run specific rules on the input identity.
Based on the input string it can fire rules at different stages of processing to generate more names / variants of a given word. Rules are fired based on overall name origin.
e.g. Arabic culture Ramadan ~ Ramazan
Parsing is done by cleaning and resolving the input name to precisely determine whether a particular name is a person or corporation name. Thereafter, it provides the user with the following:
For a Person Name:
• Gender
• Origin of Name
• Given Name
• Last Name(s)
• Title (if part of the original string)
• Prefix (if part of the original string)
• Suffix (if part of the original string)
• Qualifier (if part of the original string)
For a Company Name:
• Given Name
• Suffix (if part of the original string)
